from flu to pneumonia

Someone I care about is right now in the intensive care unit on a ventilator with pneumonia that started as the flu. No doubt the H1N1. This person is a young adult. They have had some asthma over the years.

This isn't the first person I have seen who is young and having big problems as a result of the flu. There have been a few cases in our ER. Young or with some kind of chronic problem that involves their lungs.

Let me warn you, this doesn't happen to everyone with asthma or some other respiratory problem, but it can. I hope you will get the vaccine.

I pray my loved one pulls through.

I hope your loved one recovers quickly. We still can't get the vaccine here so we're limiting our contact with others right now -- we're retired so we have that option... wish everyone had that option.

I've got bronchitis which started out at the H1N1 flu. I've had a really tough time with it but luckily it hasn't caused me to go into the hospital. I hope the person you are talking about will get better.

I will pray her also, Oh know I have posted some very furstrated comments in the past but bottom line we do this because we really do care. That's why I work in a faith based system and healthcare. Yes there are things that just irritate me but I do really care. This site has offered me a place to vent safely. I will pray for your friend and all the others who have friend in the battle for thier very life. Thanks for this site and God Bless
