crazy shit
This is the kind of crazy shit that goes on in my ER. We give a narcotic injection to someone with chronic pain, who by the way, is currently in treatment.
So, um, people with an addiction to opiates never experience real pain needing narcotics? Just how or why did they likely come to have addiction issues with opiates in the first place? The lack of understanding about addiction by the medical community never stops amazing me. Just because someone has been or is addicted to narcotics does not mean they may not also have legit pain. They actually can have both.
No... If you don't agree, you state why not because even if the OP s not enlightened, others may be. Perhaps you need to take your own advice but do it with the comments????
The problem is that because they have fried their brain from over use of opiates, their pain in never manageable to them. They are the nastiest, meanest, dirtiest, most manipulative patients and they would have you stop a code and let someone die rather than wait ten minutes for an "it begins with a d I think" pain shot. It's so funny how you medicate them to near unconsciousness and when you walk back in the room to reassess and they still slur from their mouth that their pain is a 100 on a scale of one to 10. Suck it up asshole. You are a junkie.you chose to over medicate yourself time and again and destroy your body's ability to tolerate pain. Addiction starts because people cross the line FIRST. then the addiction takes over.
