One of my favorite triage presentations: " I was jumped''. Whats funny about it is that the person is usually jumped by someone they didn't know. They were walking around and somebody just randomly attacked them.
Oftentimes the person will say, "I don't know if they thought I was someone else or what". This seems to happen to women a lot. Other women just randomly jumping them.
I just find it amusing, all this random jumping....

When I worked ER, our saying was "I was just standing on the street corner reading my bible when they jumped me" hehe
We had a rash of young males being shot in the leg a summer or two ago. At first it was very strange then we were told by the police that it was a battle over drug territory.
The same went for street robberies too.
No one wanted a murder charge so they aimed below the waist. Don't know if that held up with the courts though.
Ours was usually "I was just standing there minding my own business when some dude attacked me" It was always some dude...lol
There's an EMT blogger who says most of these crimes are committed by Sum Dude ... obviously, a dangerous individual.
Jumped seems like a particularly appropriate story after the tragedy of Phoebe Prince. I wasn't expecting the ending and just sat there, in horror and amazement. Ugh. This was a quick read, but unforgettable.

If we could get Sumdood and Those Two Dudes behind bars, violent crime would be almost gone!
In 2001 I was stabbed outside a bar by some dude for "talking to his girl.'
She was the bartender and didn't even know the guys name.
